Who Can Apply for Helse Vest Research funds
General Rule: Applicants for Helse Vest research funds must hold at least a 20 percent position at a healthcare trust in the region or a private, non-profit institution that has an agreement with Helse Vest.
Endorsement
For all applications, endorsement by the head of clinic/department at the applicant institution is a requirement. This endorsement confirms that the application is supported. It also indicates that the management approves that staff in the clinic who will participate in the project can allocate time to research, and that this may require contributions and resources from the clinic. The application system (eSøknad) will automatically send an email to the relevant leader requesting endorsement upon submission of the application.
Application Access for Non-Employees
For certain application categories, an Agreement of Support can be used where the employment requirements are not met. Only staff members at the following institutions can apply with an agreement of support:
- Universities and universities of applied sciences in the region
- Substance abuse institutions
- Rehabilitation institutions
The Agreement of Support should be made between the health trust/private non-profit institution at the clinic, department, or similar level and the applicant's institution at the institute level or equivalent. The agreement must be signed in accordance with the authorization structure in the institutions and must be at least at the level of head of clinic, head of department, etc.
The Agreement of Support is only relevant for these application categories:
- PhD fellowships
- Research fellowships
- Open project support

Note:
- The signed form must be scanned and attached to the application as part of "All other attachments."
- If funding is awarded, personnel financed by Helse Vest research funds must be employed at the applicant institution (health enterprise/private non-profit institution).
- A new Agreement of support must be submitted for each application round.
